Looking back on November: Cooking Edition
What I cooked in November? So much middle eastern!!!!! why the hell not.
Here we goooo! If you are interested in what I cooked in October have a look on this post right here. I cooked so much again! For those who are new, I started cooking ONE DISH A DAY since I came back from Europe, because I don’t have a regular job at the moment and cooking is one thing that makes me feel like I’ve done something in the day. I went out a lot as well (oops lol), but here are some of my favorite dishes & recipes I made in November🍝
Dinner💌
Le Poulet Puree. Recipe From Merci Mamie pour les Recettes by Nicole Imbert
Classic Shakshuka with homemade garlic tahini sauce. with homemade pita bread. Recipe from this beautiful cook book Eating out Loud by Eden Grinshpan.
My favorite dish, Moussaka. Recipe from here.
Lunch🥗
A chopped Asian Cabbage salad with a peanut honey soy sauce
Recipe from here
Squashed crispy potatoes with the Chimichuri sauce
Recipe from Eating out Loud
Dolce🍮
Upside down apple cake. Recipe from xoxo Dorie
Obviously as you can see… I didn’t have the right pan for this. My pan dish was too deep. This will be fixed next.
A gooey… pistachio cake. and frankly my all time favorite dessert I made in a while. Recipe from Cup of Jo
No usage of flour, just almond meal, which is insane. but you use lots of eggs. Maybe because I live in Japan, but the sliced almonds and pistachio are not the cheapest things you can get here, so it is a bit of a pricy cake, but SO WORTH it. It’s also fucking easy?
Baklava Crostata. Recipe from Eating out Loud, of course.
THE Apple Pie recipe that I will always make from now on. Apple pie here . Best all butter crust recipe here
Sauces🍯
Chimichurri. Recipe from Eating out Loud
最近日本でもよく目にするChimichurriソース。すんごい簡単。
I actually have way more….but I can't fit in the email. Hope something becomes an inspiration, but I’ve been obsessing over this A newsletter by Alison Roman. My dinner tonight is her chicken potpie, fun to say, fun to eat.
Bisou xoxo I’ll send out another email of the ‘unpublished’ article that I pitched to Refinery29 but haven’t heard back from soon. haha
