Roundups: Cooking Edition
Basically an homage...or a tribute to Alison Roman because what can I say, I'm a fan. Also some recs (like a lot of it) at the end.
It has been cooking heavy months and days for me! Here are so of my favorites, and oh my god. I made my own harissa spice! I’m very proud of that. Very photo heavy and less wordy. Wow who could have guessed.
PASTA
honestly, I’ve been on an
Alison Roman trend for a minute babes and can’t stop cooking her recipes. Her recipes are homey, warm and just comforting. If all those words mean the same thing, well it really is. This anchovies tomato paste pasta was magnific. The recipe is technically called Shallot Pasta, video hereBreakfasts
Then made her not the fluffy kind but a crispy pancake. Wow. Video here She’s just such good video-person. I think she will be a great podcast host as well.
I made this divine egg muffin one morning and thought to myself, wow, I could be a genius. (This is just an egg muffin, nothing fancy, no recipe.)
Dinners
Stanley Tucci made me do this 10 minute dinner. Literally just tomato cans, roughly chopped onions and an egg. This is Italian? This is Shakshuka without the spices?
This spicy harrisa roasted Tomato and Chickpea soup was so good. With a dollop of yogurt, always, with spicy stuff. Recipe by Eden Eats
This eggplant parm????? Again another Alison tribute here.
A chicken pop pie all to myself because i’m that girl. Alison’s lol
This was inspired by Sophie Wybburd who I recently discovered, again a very homely vibe with her recipes and I love it so much. It’s spicy white beans with tomatoes. In her version, she had crispy pork on top, but I did crispy Kikuimo chips….omg. Dripping it with some harissa sauce?
A Salad
This crouton is the main babe caeser salad was completely what I needed. The bread dipped in garlic oil. I get a lot of my food inspo via Mob. Highly recommend.
Desserts
This fucking show stopper frozen berry chocolate pudding. Damn, I’m good. Lot’s of butter and sugar. Be aware. Recipe is from Cupofjoe. I love this website for some dessert inspo.
One day I woke up and was like “hm, I need to bake some blueberry muffins.”

BOOKS📕
-How Kyoto breaks your heart by Florentine Leon
I went to her book launch but a very honest and exciting new topic to explore. The devastating effects of friendship break ups and how a city can signify myriads of things to one person. She also has a substack!
-Other people’s clothes by Calla Henkel
This one was a dooooozy! 2 girls just living life in Berlin. I think I need to visit Berlin to not miss a night, and what that actually means.
